THE SKINCARE EDIT: Newbies On My Shelf!

Skincare Edit: Featuring Soap & Glory Daily Youth Moisture Lotion, Soap & Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator Cream and Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray

I'll admit it, I'm not the best behaved blogger when it comes to skincare. I think my lack of taking it seriously has left me with some fine lines that I'm not entirely happy with. Or maybe it's just from laughing too much? Either way, I'm trying to avoid anymore fine lines in my skin and keep it super plump. I use mainly Soap & Glory products and I try to keep my skin very hydrated.

I absolutely love the Mario Badescu Rosewater as it's such a refreshingly light mist. I've had this for a while but have only just started incorporating it more into my skincare as well as using it to finish off my make-up looks. I have a post about that here, but other than using it as a finishing spray, I like to use it as a pick me up throughout the evening or after I wash my face in the morning. I always spray this over my moisturisers too, because hey, who can ever get enough of some Mario Badescu! You can pick this up from Beautybay in a travel size or a larger size for like £10, so you can't go wrong.

Soap & Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator is a thick night cream that works wonders for my skin. It sinks in extremely quickly and doesn't leave a layer of 'ugh, when can I lie on my pillow already' if you get what I mean. I love the scent, although some people can find them irritating. My skin isn't overly sensitive so I enjoy that peachy smell! This is something I may or may not re-purchase, as it's kind of expensive for what it is and I want to try some products from Kiehls so I'll likely switch this out of my routine. You get 45ml for £13 (I paid £8 because of a Boots offer that was running). I feel like I may try out a Mario Badescu moisturiser next as it's around the same price point. That being said, Soap & Glory do include some great ingredients in this product:
  • Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil): This oil contains nutrients such as Calcium, vitamins E/B9 and Magnesium.
  • Rosa Canina Fruit Oil: Otherwise known as Rosehip Oil, this moisturises skin.
  • Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil: Prevents moisture loss.
  • Cereus Grandifloras Extract: Aids cell renewal and keeps skin looking fresh.

My go-to moisturiser for the daytime is the Soap & Glory Daily Youth Moisture Lotion. It's very light and provides a perfect base for make-up. It doesn't feel greasy at all, but I wish the packaging was a tad more sturdy though as once it becomes half gone it falls over a lot which bugs me for some reason! This is again, kind of expensive for 50ml at £12, and is also fragranced, but I usually stock up when it's on offer. This week I picked up a new one for £8, thanks to Boots having a 1/3 off offer on! The goodies it contains:
  • Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil: Rich in vitamin E and full of antioxidants.
  • Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract: This is rich in antioxidants and is a skin conditioner.
  • Squalene: Over time, this can "reduce wrinkles, eliminate scars, reverse UV damage, lighten freckles and erase skin pigmentation while fighting free radicals."

I've recently also picked up the Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful Eye-Cream. I haven't used this more than twice, but it sinks in ever so quickly and doesn't leave a residue at all. I really like this so far, it feels very luxurious and is in very sleek packaging! It was £14 so I am hoping it works well for me. The goodies it contains:

  • Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber): Antioxidant and helps to keep skin supple.
  • Palmitoyl Oligopeptide: Stimulates collagen production and aids anti-anting within skin.
  • Ethylhexylglycerin: Deep conditioner (Used by people with eczema mostly).

Overall I'm really liking the Soap and Glory skincare range, it's a nice change to try something that isn't just sweet smelling body lotions. I have to admit as well, these jars look cute in my bathroom! Have you guys tried any S&G skincare?

  2. I've not tried any S&G skincare since they revamped the range but that Beauty Sleep Accelerator looks interesting. The Mario Badescu spray is so nice I need to get that one again when I finished the Lush version I have. :)

  3. I've got a Soap & Glory pore face mask but apart from that, I haven't tried any of their facial skincare. The rose water you mentioned sounds really soothing as well, I'll have to put that on my wishlist :)
